Definition of Hooke's Law in Physics
It could deform like a solid according to Hookes law F kx. In physics mass is not the same as weight even though mass is often. What Is Hooke S Law Newtons law of universal gravitation is usually stated as that every particle attracts every other particle in the universe with a force that is directly proportional to the product of their masses and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between their centers. . In physics Hookes law is an empirical law which states that the force F needed to extend or compress a spring by some distance x scales linearly with respect to that distancethat is F s kx where k is a constant factor characteristic of the spring ie its stiffness and x is small compared to the total possible deformation of the spring. If a weight W mg is hung from one end of an ordinary spring causing it to stretch a distance x then an equal and opposite force F is created in the spring which opposes the pull of the wei...
